About me

Will Plunkett

Growing up surrounded by the industrial sights of Teesside, escaping into nature was a celebraterd family pastime. Ever since I can remember I have looked forward to weekend adventures exploring the coast and countryside.

My early sense of adventure and love of the outdoors continued into adulthood and in 2020 I decided to document my adventures and purchased my first camera.

The world changed somewhat in the early part of the same year, which meant that instead of being able to document and photograph the exotic and wild places I might have imagined (like I had previously explored), I was forced to start taking a more vested interest in places closer to home; places I had often taken for granted.

Escaping the clutches of the Ironopolis and leaving the shadow of the Eston Hills behind (where my great grandfather mined for iron ore) I now live close enough to look out over the North Yorkshire Moors, a somewhat more serene and peaceful spot. I spend my free time exploring the local woodlands and forests and these have become precious places I can gather my thoughts and appreciation for the beautiful area I am lucky enough to call home.

I have realised the thing that brings me the biggest sense of joy in the wider world is finding new places to explore and photograph, and being able to share the beauty I see with others, either in person, through workshops or in the medium of prints and blog posts.
